This is the back story to Rod's life before book one, Jamie's Gift. Rod is a New York firefighter with a beautiful wife, a five-year-old son, and trying to make a good life for them while he can earn money doing what he loves. His parents live in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where he was born and they don't get to see their grandson as often as Rod would like. His life with Cindy is everything he ever wanted and she loves him unconditionally. What more could a man ask?
